Yen Yoga & Fitness is Getting New Bikes!

From Kolotc.com, a blog about all things Michigan cycling

As the weather takes a turn for the worse, Yen Yoga & Fitness in downtown Traverse City timed the purchase of a new fleet of Precor indoor bikes perfectly. After nine years on meticulously maintained Lemond bikes, we’re so excited to be hopping on the latest and great indoor cycling has to offer. We wanted to take a minute to tell you about these bikes so you can see what the fuss is all about around the studio.

PRECOR SPINNER CHRONO POWER

First off, the name just plain sounds cool. But these bikes aren’t just a refresh of what they’re replacing. These bikes offer incredibly accurate watt measurement, a completely covered drivetrain to reduce maintenance problems, and a magnetic resistance system that eliminates resistance slip when sweat gets on the flywheel.

If you’re sick of squinting at your computer during class, those days are long gone. These bikes have a color LCD screen that makes seeing your data a breeze.

TECHNOLOGY AND DATA

So, how was your workout? It’s a question we all get after class, and now you can answer in advanced, numeric detail! Using ANT+ technology and the Wahoo Fitness App, our riders can track each workout and hang on to that data to track their fitness over weeks, months, and years. Don’t have your own ANT+ heart rate monitor? Don’t sweat it! (Get it?) We’ll supply the heart rate monitors for you to use for free.

And the data you’ll be tracking is SWEET! Power output in wattage? YUP. Heart rate? Duh. RPMs, time, average speed, average power output, max heart rate, max power - YES YES AND YES.

MORE DETAILS

Ready to ride? These bikes will be at Yen in time for Wes’s class on 10/30 at 5:30pm. The class is full, but you can sign up for any class at Yen up to a week in advance. Yen offers cycling classes beginning 6am through 5:30pm almost every day of the week. Your first class at Yen is $5. New to indoor cycling? Sign up for Yen’s weekly newsletter for Intro to Indoor Cycling workshops each month all winter long, beginning in December.

We’re so stoked that Yen is investing in bikes so that our TC community can get fitter, faster, and experience group exercise suited for all levels. If you end up giving Yen a try, tell them kolo sent ya.
