Achieving Complete Fitness at Yen Yoga & Fitness

In 2017, I’m training for a series of spring bicycle races and looking to get back to my old form of being pretty darn competitive at a high level of competition. This year, I’m doing my training exclusively at Yen. My rationale? By adopting a holistic, well-rounded training program of cardio, strength, and recovery, I’ll be fitter, faster, and more prepared for spring races than ever before.

I realized I needed to change my lifestyle.  I had numerous excuses for not exercising regularly.  After reviewing my schedule, I determined that I had time, first thing in the morning, to get a workout in.  Just prior to starting at Yen, I was working with a personal trainer at a different facility.  He was an amazing personal trainer, but he could not turn down the intensity level to an appropriate level and I was frustrated with working out.

I decided to start doing yoga because I was making unhealthy life choices. I wanted to turn my life around and start being happy again. Yoga ended up turning into my biggest vice: I was able to quit smoking, I was eating better, and I was able to tear away from bad habits. Next thing I knew I was turning all the negatives that surrounded me into positive things that made me happy. I had improved my quality of life.

Student Spotlight: Lynn Baumann

My name is Lynn Baumann. I’ve been a member of Yen Yoga and Fitness (YYF) since the first day they opened. My best friend, Liz Davis, told me about this new workout place opening on Front St and we would HAVE to join it so we could spin together. I wasn’t quite as enthusiastic as she was about joining. At that time, my husband and I usually took an “annual” bike ride on the Tart Trail and that was about it for me and biking!
